Real Love <3

around the age of 5 (1996), i moved on Draper St. in Dorchester. derick moved on Draper at the age of 5, as well. but by the time i moved there, he was 6 years young. i was the shy, quiet, tom-boy from down the street & he was the wild, adventurous, energetic little boy from up the street. the first time i remember seeing him was one day in the summer, i was with 2 of my older brothers & we went into his back yard playing whatever kid games we played back then. he always wanted to go on little adventures lol. from then on, we grew up together on that same street. :)

eventho we lived so close, we never saw eachother like that. we was growing up. the crazy thing about it is that we were ALWAYS around each other but we just NEVER knew of it. we wud be in the same areas at the same times, but had no idea. our hearts & souls were attached & we had to figure that out ourselves. i eventually moved off Draper a couple years later.

in 2005, i ended up going to SouthBoston High* ; Monument to be exact, & i became the girlfriend of the biggest ass i ever dated. come to find out, Derick & I found each other again. we had class together freshman year. we spoke about each other looking familiar and thinking we knew each other & we wanted to figure it out & we finally did. after a while he got wit the one BITCH who broke his heart & he lost alot of trust in females. he was hurt. he started asking me to be with him & eventho i did have a crush on him, i was still in a relationship & i had to push him away. i knew that when i was ready to be settled, he wud be TheOne*.

instead of us getting together, we became bestfriends. he always called me & came over my house & i loved his company. i would support him at his football games & he would support me at my track meets. i knew it was killing him to just be my “bestfriend” but it had to be that way. thank goodness he stuck around & fought for US.

i finally got out of that relationship & spent some time single and seen what it was like to be with other people & he did too. we obviously weren’t satisfied. the bestfriend thing was wearin out. we wanted MORE. then our junior year (2008) we got closer. we hung out ALOT more and it was obvious that we loved each other. we kissed & seen what it was like to just be friends with benefits but it just wasnt enough. i told him i wanted to make it official & he agreed. June 8, 2008 to be exact! :D

we spent our senior year showing our love to the world. most people loved it. others hated it, so i guess we was doing something right. anyways, we went to prom together, we graduated together & spent that summer sad that we wouldnt be seeing each other everyday like we were used to & going to different schools was KILLIN us!

he went off to Dean College in Franklin, MA (45 minutes away) and i ended up at Newbury College in Brookline. we stayed strong & made efforts to see each other as much as possible & it worked out. our junior year, he ended up transferring to University of Maine for the D1 football program & i HATED it. of course i was happy for him but the distance was killing us! we missed each other so much…

(FINALLY seeing him for the first time in MONTHS at UMAINE. one of the happiest days of my life)

i felt that a part of me was deff missing. turns out, he only stayed there for one semester because he got home sick & they didnt give him as much money as he needed :) so he transfered & is now enrolled at Bridgewater State, only 45 minutes away again & he lives back at home, only less than 10 minutes away :D lol

as of now (2012), we are going on 4 years in june. barely having any really serious downs, our ups have been the highlights of my life. his too. i wouldnt trade this love for anything. Derick is my bestfriend, lover, love, & my everything. i dont know what i would do witout him in my life. he brings me happiness. he makes me feel beautiful. he lets me know that i am wanted. he shows me what a real man is and how a real man should be. he teaches me to be strong & wise. hes made life wonderful & i love him for that! i cant wait til we get married :)
